Summer cinema returns to Sherwood Forest

We’re thrilled to be offering another outdoor experience at Sherwood Forest this summer.

And this year, we have the cinematic experience we were destined to bring you.

The 1991 Hollywood blockbuster Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner as Robin and Alan Rickman as the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham, will top the bill on Saturday 27th July at 7pm.

It follows screenings of Brave, the brilliant animated adventure of Scottish princess Merida, at 1pm, and the ground-breaking (and earth-shaking) Jurassic Park at 4pm.

On Sunday 28th July, we’ll have Disney’s Robin Hood at 12pm and we finish at 3pm with swashbuckling romance The Princess Bride.

Our Saturday ‘mystery film’ is…

….being shown on the evening of Friday 26th July. Why? Because it’s the epic Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Thanks to everyone who voted to give Peter Jackson’s stupendous big screen version of part one of Tolkein’s revered book very nearly 50% of the ballot – a substantial winning margin.

Tickets

Tickets are for one screening only and they cost £15 per person, or £12.50 if you are a member of the RSPB, which manages the reserve here at Sherwood Forest.

The ticket price includes parking.
