St Nicholas Weekend!
St Nicholas is the origin of our jolly red Santa Claus.
St Nicholas was a Bishop in Myra (now Turkey) and he was known for secret gift giving, slipping into the homes of poor people to leave coins in their shoes or stockings.
December 6 is his traditional feasting day and St Nicholas will be visiting Sherwood this weekend to meet children and check if they have been naughty or nice.
Decorate a Christmas coin to take home in your shoe and meet the man himself!
Sunday will also be the second of our Advent Sunday celebrations. Join us and Robin Hood at 12pm to light the second candle. Then sing along to carols with the Major Oak Chorus in the amphitheatre at 1:30pm and 2:30pm on Sunday.
December 7 and 8, from 11am – 3pm.
This is a free event, though donations are always welcome! Please note, a normal car parking charge of £4 applies (free for RSPB Members).
