Den Building & Orienteering Adventure Day

Join the Sherwood Outlaws and Notts Outdoors this summer at Sherwood Forest for an exciting family experience.

The Outlaws made their home in Sherwood Forest and used natural resources to survive.

Have you got what it takes to become one of Robin Hood’s outlaws and live in Sherwood Forest?

Start your morning with a den building session in our dedicated den building area.

Can you create a hideaway in the forest and outwit the Sheriff and his men?

After lunch, you can test your map reading and orienteering skills, as you search for clues out in Sherwood forest and  try and win some of the Sheriff’s gold.

Important information about this event:

This event is suitable for families and children must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Routes through the forest are on main pathways but please contact us if you have any queries on suitability for wheelchair users or pushchairs.

Please bring with you your own lunch and refreshments for the day.

Car parking is available in the Sherwood Forest main visitor car park. Parking is £5 per vehicle per day, but free for RSPB members

Please meet at the Robin Hood statue at the entrance to the Shop at the Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre where you will be greeted by one of our team.

The day runs from our St John’s Hut base and belongings can be stored safely in this area for the day.

Although we love our canine friends, we kindly ask that dogs are not brought on the Den build day.

10% from each ticket sold will be donated to the RSPB, the UK’s largest conservation charity, which has managed the Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve since 2018.
