Baring all at Budby Guided Walk
Join the Site Manager for a free guided walk across Budby South Forest Nature Reserve.
The walk will explore and explain the first phase of the ‘Baring All at Budby’ project which aims to improve the heathland and woodland mosaic across the Budby part of the Sherwood NNR.
Over the winter, big machinery has been used to thin out and diversify woodland blocks, enhance rides and create dead wood features. New cattle fencing has also been installed to allow our traditional conservation grazing programme to continue. And, most excitingly, new bare ground features are being created across the heath to provide essential sandy micro habitats for some of Sherwood’s most vulnerable species.
Come along and see the works in their final stages, have a nosy at the changes across the reserve and find out more about how and why we’re doing this habitat improvement.
This event is free, but please book via EventBrite to confirm your attendance.
